Stewardship begins when the celebration ends
Settlement is a legal event. Stewardship is a moral and practical one. The distance between the two is where most offshore holdings quietly deteriorate.

A well-bought asset can be poorly held. Roofs are not theoretical. Landscapes dry out. Managers who do not know the owner’s purpose will optimise for their own convenience. Families who intended to come each winter discover that the house does not quite receive them.
This is not a failure of capital. It is a failure of counterpart. Someone local has to care in the same way the principal would care if they lived on the next ridge.
We take that obligation as part of the original relationship, not as an optional extra sold later. Reporting should be calm and complete. Improvements should be judged against the reason the asset was bought. If the purpose was a child’s education, the house should work for a school year. If the purpose was agricultural, the land should be healthier than we found it.
In time there will be a private environment for briefs and records. The tool is not the point. The point is that nothing important is left in a drawer that nobody opens.
